Speed steels competition consists of 5 metal plates, placed in various configurations, shot distances between 7 and 25 yards. There are 5 stages, each of which are shot 5 times, with the worst string thrown out, for a total of at least 125 rounds fired total for the match. The “plates” must be knocked over, or in the case of 22RF, just hit, for a score.
Classifications include stock, carry, revolver, open, draw, and carbine and optic carbine. All fired stages are timed, so the lowest time with all of the plates hit wins.
